Have you heard the whispers about the new Inspection Framework? Due for release in September 2019, we are all interested to see what the new draft framework will look like when it is released in the New Year.
The main headlines appear to be:
- Amanda Spielman proposes 4 new inspection judgements
- schools will no longer receive a separate grade for outcomes for pupils
- focus will be on the substance of education and a broad curriculum
- more involvement for classroom teachers
I was chatting with a very well known former Ofsted inspector and author last week. He welcomed the shift of emphasis to a knowledge based curriculum, especially adapting this specifically to include the particular circumstances and environment of individual schools.
He also said – Intent, Implementation and Impact will be the 3 words that we’ll all become very familiar with next year…
